Osteopathy has only recently become regulated in Portugal.

Osteopathy is a healthcare  profession regulated by the Exercise of Professional Activities Application of Unconventional Therapies Act 71/2014 and by the Government Ordinance No.207-B/2014.

The title of Osteopath is protected by law.

Standards of osteopathic practice in Portugal are set, maintained and developed by the ACSS - Central Administration of Health System, the health professional statutory regulator.
